Our vision for Gatsby is to tastefully modernise the timeless design of a Georgian style home whilst leaving the majority of classic features. Tucked away in a private garden plot, located in a quiet little village, Gatsby will fit into its surroundings perfectly. Even though this build will be constructed purposely for our clients specific needs, they gave our designer a lot of freedom to create something pretty special. After a few busy months designing Gatsby, our client was blown away with our proposed plans. Gatsby will offer all of the swanky modern luxuries that make living in 2020 fun and exciting. Below, we’ve explained a few of our clients favourite features about their bespoke house.

glass

The most effective way for us to tastefully modernise a Georgian house is to add elegant pieces of glass. The stand out feature on Gatsby is the 1.5 story kitchen that extends out from the main part of the house.

We’ve introduced a vaulted ceiling which will make the kitchen much more spacious at the same time as adding character.

On the back elevation, there’s a metal frame holding six pieces of tinted toughened glass (two of which will slide to open during the warmer months).

It doesn’t stop there, we’ve also added a set of beautifully crafted crittall doors to the side which will lead out on to the patio area - perfect for hosting family & friends.

timeless

Feast your eyes on the front elevation. We’ve tweaked a few timeless features and enhanced what they have to offer to create a more prominent stance.

We’ve made a grand entrance by introducing a larger front door and carried on the theme of ‘more glass’ to allow natural daylight to flow throughout the entire house.

We managed to achieve a sleek look by reducing the profile of the original sash window by using a slimmer template that sits closer to the block work. Finished in black to match the door and other features around the property.

K-rend done properly not only looks amazing but also helps to keep the development looking clean and fresh all year round.

HOWEVER, you can’t beat the layers of sophistication that a high quality brick offers. So, we’ve incorporated a stunning buff brick that works hand in hand with the white K-rend. This brick brings a slight rustic touch to the development that keeps the entire build in-line with the whole Georgian theme.

We’ve dressed the property with black up/down lights, controlled by intelligent sensors that will trigger them as light levels start to rise & fall.

Gatsby is finished with a sliding electric gate for optimal privacy.
